GottFA80S - a Gottlieb System80 MPU based on a low cost FPGA with integrated soundboard
GottfA80S do include a soundboard which can emulate all System80, 80A and early 80B soundboards. For a complete list have a look at my GOSOF page. All soundboards supported by GOSOF are supported by GottFA80S as well.
The soundboard connector (A6J1) is connected by using my GOSAD80 adapter.
BOM and CPL provided do include all ICs needed using the 'hand soldering' service from JLC. Here you only need solder a few parts yourself (see below),.
For easy replacement all chips placed at the 'corners' of GottFA80 are in DIP format.
Parts needed
In addition to the preassembled PCB you need:
- my cyclone IV v4 FPGA board ( note that Cyclone II boards do not work with GottFA80S! )
- the GOSAD80 adapter ( order via Gerber GOSAD80.ZIP at JLCPCB )
- two 4 pin Molex connectors ( link to Aliexpress , order 4P top entry)
- an adapter cable ( link to Aliexpress , order 4pin/30cm/double )
- Miniplayer ( link to Aliexpress )
- TDA7267 ( link to Reichelt; TDA6267 from Aliexpress are often faulty! )
- two micro SD cards ( link to Reichelt )

Dokumentation & Software
Due to copyrigth on Gottlieb roms the SD card does not contain any rom code, but do provide the right struture for GottFA80. Have a look at the user manual to see how you can copy your rom images onto the Sd card.
GottFA80S in a Gottlieb 80A 'Punk'. Original soundboard still in place but soundboard connector attached via GOSAD80 adapter to GottFA80S.
how to order your GottFA80 PCB
Have a look to the PCB documentation section.
Needed Gerber Data, BOM and Component Placement List (CPL) you find on my repository server; see link below.
